Yolo Ag & Food Alliance Accomplishments in 2011
- The Alliance, in collaboration with the UC Davis Food System Analysis graduate seminar, published the report Context Matters: Visioning a Food Hub in Yolo and Solano Counties. This extensive report provides recommendations, and overview of need and infrastructure and will be used as a tool for the YAFA moving forward in its aggregation/food hub efforts.
- Yolo County Ag and Food Alliance is conducting surveys with key stakeholders toward creating supporting business plan development of aggregation and distribution efforts in the county.
- The Yolo Co. Food Bank, and member organization of the Alliance, will look for funding to conduct a business plan/feasibility study exploring the potential of expanding the food banks services to include aggregation services for local producers.
- The Alliance grew from 9 members to 22, including 4 new specialty crop producers, a representative from the Yocha Dehe Wintun tribe, environmental health, economic development and the food bank.
- The report from July 2010’s Regional Food Forum has been widely distributed.

June 2011 The students from a UC Davis graduate seminar in Food System Analysis recently completed an assessment of the local food system for the Yolo Ag and Food Alliance.
